Per Diem Instructional Aide in Livonia, MI

Job Description

Make a tangible difference each day as a Personal Care Assistant Substitute, providing vital 1:1 support to students in a school-based environment. These flexible, per diem roles are a wonderful fit for compassionate professionals who thrive on helping others and seek opportunities to work as their schedules allow. Shifts become available based on school coverage needs, allowing you to choose assignments that fit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom settings
Deliver focused 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by educators and school staff
Help students manage daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
Follow behavior support plans and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) as directed
Assist students with mobility, supervision, and personal care requirements as needed
Maintain a secure, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Minimum age of 18
Ability to complete TB test per school requirements
Capability to stand, walk, and lift to support students as necessary
Current clearances (or a willingness to obtain them prior to starting)

Preferred Experience:

Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
Knowledge of CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required but a plus)
Reliable, calm, and positive approach with a team-player attitude
