Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented PC LAN Technician I to support an enterprise-wide desktop refresh project. The technician will assist with deploying, configuring, tracking, and maintaining desktops, laptops, monitors, and other IT peripherals across multiple departments.

This role involves hands-on hardware support, device imaging, inventory management, asset data updates, basic troubleshooting, and direct interaction with end users. The ideal candidate has experience in a Windows PC environment, Active Directory, ServiceNow, and IT asset management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, image, and reimage desktops and laptops as part of a scheduled device refresh project.
• Set up and distribute computers, monitors, and peripherals across multiple department locations.
• Manage incoming and outgoing equipment inventory, including tracking, documentation, and asset updates.
• Update and maintain asset records in the ServiceNow Asset Management portal.
• Review asset data for accuracy and report discrepancies or required corrections to the Asset Manager.
• Perform hardware break-fix support, quality assurance checks, and basic troubleshooting.
• Install applications locally and through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Assist end users with initial setup of Outlook, network connections, local printers, and third-party applications.
• Resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, software, network connectivity, system access, and telecommunications.
• Respond to service requests through telephone support and enterprise service desk ticketing systems.
• Diagnose and analyze technical problems using available records and historical ticket data.
• Identify recurring issues and report problem patterns to management.
• Coordinate with department liaisons, project managers, service desk personnel, and external vendors.
• Assist with vendor service calls, equipment repairs, and warranty-related issues.
• Support equipment recycling requests and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
• Assist with project documentation, status reports, timelines, resource coordination, and end-user instructions.
• Follow established inventory controls, asset management procedures, and configuration management practices.
• Travel between department locations as required to support equipment deployment and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with desktop and laptop imaging, reimaging, deployment, or refresh projects.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, including adding, moving, and modifying objects within organizational containers.
• Previous experience with IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities in a Windows PC environment.
• Working knowledge of PC hardware and the ability to identify appropriate devices and configurations based on user needs.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and IT asset management processes.
• Understanding of asset management and configuration management principles.
• Experience with enterprise-level service desk ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and quality assurance checks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain basic Windows 10 and Windows 11 concepts to end users.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, and meet project deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, management, department representatives, and vendors.
• Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft SCCM for application deployment and device management.
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
• Experience with IT inventory tracking, asset audits, and equipment lifecycle management.
• Understanding of audit procedures and basic financial principles related to inventory controls.
• Experience supporting large-scale desktop refresh or hardware deployment projects.
• Ability to train and guide end users on basic computer setup and troubleshooting.

Work Environment

• Fully onsite position in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Standard first-shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Requires handling and transporting IT equipment between multiple department locations.
• Involves regular interaction with end users, technical support teams, project coordinators, and vendors.
