Extended Filing Deadline - october 2, 2026, 4:30 pm Salary Step 1: $34.74 – Step 5: $42.24 (Hourly) Step 1: $6,022 – Step 5: $7,322 (Monthly, Full-Time) Selection Procedure This is a PROMOTIONAL AND OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list and fill a vacancy. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list. In a promotional and open recruitment, the promotional list shall take precedence. When the promotional list contains fewer than three eligible and willing employees, certification of additional ranks shall then be made from the open list. The current vacancy is full-time, 12 months per year, Monday-Friday 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM. The recruitment process will consist of a written and/or performance examination and an oral technical interview, which are tentatively scheduled during the weeks of October 5-16, 2026 . Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email. Basic Function Under the direction of the Supervisor-Transportation, oversee evening shift operations, participate in major and minor repairs of school buses and a variety of District automotive and mechanical equipment, perform journey-level repair, maintenance and overhaul of gasoline and diesel engines in District vehicles including buses and trucks; plan, assign and review the work of others during an assigned shift. Licenses & Other Requirements Valid California Class B driver's license.
