Job Details Specialty: Postpartum / Mother-Baby / Couplet Care Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Location: Midlothian, Virginia (Richmond area) Schedule: 12-hour night shifts Shifts Per Week: 3 Shift Duration: 12 hours Hours Per Week: 36 Assignment Length: 16 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010 Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and major holidays required Call Requirement: Up to 2 call shifts per 6 weeks Unit Setting: Mother/Baby unit with couplet care and support for transitioning newborns Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Current BLS certification required NRP certification required STABLE certification preferred Prior experience in OB, postpartum, mother/baby, women’s health, or labor and delivery strongly preferred Ability to provide safe, compassionate care for postpartum mothers, newborns, and couplets Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical nursing environment with rotating priorities Responsibilities Provide direct postpartum nursing care and Mother/Baby care to mothers and newborns Support couplet care and assist with transitioning newborns after delivery Attend deliveries and participate in newborn stabilization as needed Care for stable infants and float to the special care nursery for grower/feeders without respiratory support, as needed Monitor patient and newborn status, document assessments, and communicate changes in condition promptly Educate families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to maintain safe staffing, patient flow, and excellent outcomes Maintain a compassionate, supportive approach for mothers, newborns, and families throughout the postpartum journey Why This Travel Nursing Job Competitive weekly pay for a Virginia nursing job Opportunity to work in a supportive Mother/Baby healthcare setting Richmond-area location with convenient access to dining, shopping, and outdoor recreation Excellent fit for experienced postpartum travel nurses seeking a rewarding assignment Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your Postpartum Registered Nurse career in Midlothian, Virginia.
