Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist
New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Job Description Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) to assist blind and visually impaired students achieve their greatest level of independence. Responsibilities include supporting students aged 3–6 in the Early Childhood Program campus and students aged 3–21 in the residential campus, working full‑time for 9 months during the 26‑27 school year. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher , current ACVREP certification , and eligibility for O&M licensure from the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED). Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Company Description New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NMSBVI) serves the youth of New Mexico and their families since 1903. The school provides residential, academic support, and outreach services to students who are blind and visually impaired.
