This position offers a dynamic work environment with a diverse patient population, focusing on cardiac medical conditions. Unit Overview Number of Beds: 23 with 1 treatment room Staffing: Total of 58 staff members Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCT), 1 Medical Technician Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 Medical Technician Patient Ratios: Day Shift (1:4), Night Shift (1:5) Equipment: Telemetry monitoring, vein finder for IV therapy, portable pulse oximetry, mechanical lifts, and manual/automatic vital sign machines Electronic Medical Record: Allscripts with medication scanning capabilities Patient Population Our unit caters to a variety of cardiac medical patients, including: Hemodynamically stable myocardial infarction Acute/chronic heart failure New onset atrial fibrillation with or without rapid ventricular response Stable dysrhythmias Procedural patients (e.g., cardiac catheterizations without interventions, ablations, cardioversions) Patients requiring cardiac medications (e.g., Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dobutamine) ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), and pulmonary patients requiring advanced respiratory support Qualifications Required Skills: Cardiac telemetry knowledge Current ACLS certification Experience with cardiac medical and procedural patients Preferred Skills: Strong medical-surgical background with telemetry experience Procedures Performed on the Unit Cardiac catheterizations (Left/Right, femoral/radial approach) without intervention Implantable pacemakers, ablations, cardioversions, and electrophysiological studies Administration of various cardiac medications (e.g., Amiodarone, Diltiazem, insulin drips) Personality Fit The ideal candidate will be engaging, team-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and patient-centered.
