Cardiology Technician

Location & Schedule Banner North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley, Colorado. Schedule: 4 nine-hour shifts from 7 am to 4:30 pm; call rotation required. Ideal Candidate At least two years of experience in a Cath Lab or procedural setting, clearly reflected in the resume. BLS certification required. Call rotation: one weekday a month, one weekend a month; candidate must live within 30 minutes of the facility. Position Summary This position assists physicians and collaborates with other health professionals during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The Cardiovascular Technician must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal patient care. Core Functions Assists during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures to treat heart disease in accordance with departmental policies. Prepares patients and the work area for procedures, pulls appropriate instruments and supplies, ensures equipment is in good working order, reviews the case for correct instruments and supplies, and plans ahead for upcoming case needs. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques, including normal and abnormal ECG rhythms, hemodynamic values, and pressure readings; monitors and records ECG and pressure waves during procedures and provides additional patient care as needed. Demonstrates aseptic and sterile techniques and universal precautions throughout the procedure; disposes of sharps and trash, places used supplies into the case cart for processing, and prepares instruments for cleaning after each case. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning. Is accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the scope of practice, maintaining confidentiality of all work information and adhering to all safety policies. Works under the direction of a physician or other health care professional. Internal customers include physicians, nursing management, medical staff, and other interdisciplinary team members; external customers include regulatory and health agencies, patients, and family members. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. BLS certification required; ACLS certification may be required depending on assignment. Clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting. Ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
