RN - PCU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required Must-Have: Epic experience Previous charge experience preferred Travel experience required Description:Please ensure traveler is aware of the following:Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an \"Emergency Team.\"There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur.You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above. Unit does not accept first-time travelers.Patient diagnoses include pre-liver transplant, acute/chronic liver failure, end-stage renal disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, acute/chronic respiratory failure, and heart failure.Special procedures include hospice care and immunoglobulin therapy.You may be required to float to other areas. Daily census averages 33 patients.Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.The unit is staffed with interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Skills required include:Accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, and heparin protocols.Additionally, you must manage insulin and vasoactive drips without titration.You will also need to interpret dysrhythmias and provide care for patients with tracheostomies and surgical drains.Telemetry monitoring, both on the unit and remotely, is required. Candidates must be over 65 miles from the facility.References will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract. #J-18808-Ljbffr
