Furniture Technical Design Consultant

To support a major global retailer's Product Development team, the remote Furniture Technical Design Consultant will establish blueprint standards, define product specifications, and guide cross-functional teams while working on a contract basis. Key responsibilities Translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and comprehensive spec sheets Create and implement standard operating procedures and quality standards for the internal team Oversee the prototype review process, identifying structural flaws and providing actionable feedback to factories Required qualifications 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in furniture engineering, technical design, or product development Proven track record with both case goods and upholstered furniture Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or Fusion 360 Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes and global sourcing
