Will report accurate and timely financials and communicate effectively with peers so organizational decisions can be made.Job DescriptionJob DutiesOversees leases, including invoicing, payment tracking, and annual true-upsHandles special projects which require independent thinking, analysis, and research as assignedReconciles Cash Accounts, Investment Accounts, and other miscellaneous balance sheet accounts as assignedLeads and/or assists with preparation of audit work papersCompiles monthly financial reports as assignedLeads the preparation of the 990 Tax Return and 5500's as requiredRecords various monthly journal entries for financial statementsLeads the preparation of the quarterly and annual Workers Compensation ReportsProvides oversight of MMC Deposits/EFT's/Transfers, including discrepancy resolutionFollows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office softwareTen key proficiencyWritten and oral communication skillsDemonstrates Leadership capabilitiesAdapts well to change and is detail orientedProfessional ExperienceMinimum five years of general accounting experience - requiredEducationBachelor of Science/Arts or Business Administration Degree - RequiredMajor in Accounting - PreferredLicensure, Certification, RegistrationCertification by the State Board of Certified Public Accountants - PreferredPay Rate TypeSalaryMercy is an independent, community-based organization supporting the Cedar Rapids area for over 120 years.Mercy is an equal-opportunity employer.
