Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a key role in the distribution center by loading and unloading trucks, accurately pulling and checking orders, and sorting, picking, and packaging inventory for outbound shipments. This position works on a fast-paced 2nd shift schedule and requires consistent heavy lifting and attention to detail to ensure products are processed and shipped correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Pull and check customer orders accurately against packing lists or pick tickets.
• Sort TJX product and other inventory prior to shipment to ensure proper routing and organization.
• Pick, package, and prepare products for outbound shipment according to established procedures.
• Handle boxes and inventory items weighing up to 50 pounds consistently during the workday.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area within the distribution center.
• Follow all safety guidelines and warehouse procedures while performing general labor tasks.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet productivity and quality targets.
• Collaborate with team members and shift leads to complete daily shipping and receiving goals.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced distribution or warehouse environment.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the entire shift.
• Experience performing general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving inventory.
• Attention to detail when pulling, checking, sorting, and packaging orders.
• Reliability in working 2nd shift hours and scheduled days without attendance issues.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to safe work practices in a warehouse or distribution setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is beneficial.
• Comfort working with varied retail products, including TJX and similar merchandise.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Basic understanding of inventory handling and order fulfillment processes.
• Flexibility to work assigned 2nd shift schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy distribution center that processes products for multiple retail brands, including Urban Outfitters and TJX. The position is on 2nd shift, with schedules noted as 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (off Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday), and may also include 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday depending on operational needs. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting of boxes up to 50 pounds and continuous movement throughout the shift. Team members perform general labor tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, sorting merchandise, and handling inventory in a warehouse setting. Standard warehouse attire is expected, suitable for physical work and adherence to safety requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairless Hills, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
