Direct Support Professional - ThriftWorks!WACOSA, ThriftWorks! is currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated employee to join our team as a Full-Time Direct Support Professional in Waite Park. In this position the DSP is responsible for developing skills of clients so they can live and work in the community at their greatest potential. This includes, but not limited to, working alongside them at the cash register, accepting donations, handling customer relations, or stocking and pricing inventory.This position is a variable schedule, 40 hour per week position with shifts scheduled between 8:00am 7:00pm Monday - Friday, and Saturdays as scheduled between 8:00am 4:30pm. Hours worked on Saturdays are eligible for shift differential of $2.25 per hour.Direct Support Professionals play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling, and independent lives.Pay: $17.73 - $19.61 per hourWhat We Offer:Great Full-Time BenefitsRapid Accrual of Paid Time OffSupportive Team EnvironmentFree telehealth$2.25 per hour differential on SaturdaysResponsibilities of a Direct Support Professional:Develop skills of clients so they can live and work in the community at their greatest potential.Use continuous training concepts to increase client's ability to be successful in a variety of social and employment settings.Collect and enter data per company and licensing requirements.Provide interaction with clients and mentoring, that results in increased: Independence in all areas of their day, healthy social interactions, self-regulated behaviors, opportunities to use skills in decision making, work opportunities and productivity, and opportunities for client self-advocacy.Continuous use of person-centered principles.Retail skills - sorting and accepting donations.Qualifications and Skills for a DSP:Must have HS diploma or equivalent.People skills, patience, organized, and ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to obtain and maintain valid CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications.Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid MN Drivers License and insurable driving record.Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.Experience working with disabled and special needs individuals preferred.About WACOSA:From a grassroots organization, WACOSA has grown dramatically over the years, serving over 650 adults with disabilities having one or more cognitive and/or physical challenges.
