Database EngineerExcelity is seeking a Database Engineer for a project responsible for building the next generation Mission Integration System for an exciting Government customer with a very critical mission. The selected candidate will work within a Production Operations team supporting data management processes, database engineering and management, deploying, maintaining, tuning, and enhancing database systems.Required Clearance: TS/SCI w/ CI PolyJob Responsibilities:Database engineering and management activities associated with high volume, multi-format data management servicesMaintains large-scale data management solutions including developing efficient storage, indexing, and access approachesUpdates data enterprise architecture models (if needed) and data abstraction layer to enable access to new data sourcesDesigns and implements indexing strategies for ingested data.Developing a strategy for continuous performance tuning of databasesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR A PhD with no experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement.Experience with Postgres, SQL, and database performance tuningExperience installing application software in an operational environmentExperience with Agile, AWS, RDBMS technology, Elasticsearch, LinuxDoD IAT Level II certificationThis position is 100% on sitePreferred Qualifications:NoSQL technology (Hadoop and/or EMR)Familiarity with Graph database technologyData modeling experienceBenefits:Competitive salaryFlexible work schedule100% Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance plans with Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Long and Short-term disability coverageGenerous paid vacation and holiday timeSafe Harbor 401(k) Retirement Plan with 6% Employer matching contributionsReimbursement for professional and training developmentCompany-paid memberships to professional organizationsExcelity is an Equal Opportunity Employer
