Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) - Experience with trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients, neurosurgery patients, and other complex surgical cases

Description: The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is looking for a skilled Registered Nurse. The patient population includes trauma cases and patients recovering from cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures. Nurses will manage specialized cases requiring critical care intervention and support. Responsibilities include the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Nurses will care for patients with diagnoses such as acute ventilator need, severe sepsis, unstable gastrointestinal bleeds, and multi-system organ failure. The nurse-to-patient ratio will typically be 1:2-3, adapted to the skill level and acuity. Weekend shifts will be required every other week. Travelers may float within the facility to meet operational needs. The unit supports a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary teams. Common procedures performed include central line placements, chest tube insertions, and administration of conscious sedation. Equipment used includes ventilators, CRRT machines, and specialized monitoring devices. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and clinical management skills. Open to first-time travelers. Local candidates are also accepted. RTO requests will be considered at the manager's discretion. This position offers a dynamic work environment in a critically demanding field.
