The Residential Home Manager is responsible for the wellbeing of the individuals served who reside in that home.Non-Exempt Position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Residential Home Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and activities of the home. He/she will oversee the care of individuals, the facility and program implementation in the home, including but not limited to the following:Work as a team member to coordinate individual’s entry into the home. Oversee and teach residents in daily home functions such as home cleanliness, meal preparation, food purchasing, laundry, and other responsibilities designated by the person’s ISP and their interests. Plan and purchase groceries to prepare nutritionally balanced meals with assistance from the individuals, plan menus in advance and ensure adequate supplies are kept on hand while remaining within the established budget.Transports the individual to medical/dental appointments, completes the correct documentation and scans the documentation to the appropriate place. Scan in all Medical Dental forms as soon as possible after each appointment / encounter. Email to the appropriate Manager and Medscans email.Create household chore schedule with input from the individuals.Assist Individuals with personal care needs and teach them in areas of self-care/hygiene.Assist individuals in managing and utilizing personal funds / budgets. Documents all transactions on each shift. Scan receipts in weekly to the appropriate department.Serve on the Interdisciplinary Team (IT) to develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and assist the individual to reach any goal or objective designated.Maintain individual charts consistent with the agency guidelines, and reports to the Residential Case Manager any change in condition – medical, behavioral, otherwise, which may develop or intensify.Administer or Supervise self-administrated medications according to physician orders, as a trained Proxy Caregiver.Provide physical assistance to physically involved residents (i.e., lifting, transporting adaptive equipment, etc.); must be able to bend, lift (up to 40 pounds up to one foot in height) and assist individuals in transferring to and from automatic lift;Transport residents to day center and other community resources for day programs.Maintain contact with day center personnel and other providers regarding individuals’ needs.Attend staff meetings, in-service training sessions, and meet with other service providers regarding individuals’ needs.Maintain family-oriented environment in the home by being hospitable to family members and making arrangements for family and home visits as needed. Assist each person to help decorate their own rooms and common areas to their liking.Protect individuals from mental and/or physical abuse, humiliation, withholding personal funds, physical restraint and/or isolation or any other punishment. Treat them as adults at all times.Discuss, report and document any difficult behavior traits/incidents with Residential Case Manager to determine solutions.Observe confidentiality guidelines by 1) refraining from discussing individual’s life with Home Manager’s family, friends, business associates, any other party connected with the staff person or visitors; 2) providing information to the media without prior written consent from the individuals served, their family member(s), and the Residential Director;Serve as a role model by supporting and encouraging residents in routine and spontaneous activities.Work constantly to enhance the lives of individuals by using all proponents of normalization.Treat individuals with consideration, respect and full recognition of dignity and individuality and their need for privacy.Assume responsibility for maintenance of house and grounds so that good housekeeping standards are met.Complete all required documentation in Therap, healthcare needs, the MAR before end of your shift that day.Read and respond to all emails and/or phone calls in a timely manner while working.Cooperate with Residential Case Manager and others regarding home inspections.Inputs any maintenance work orders into the agency online reporting system.Ensure that maintenance safety devices (smoke detectors, fire alarms, electrical equipment) are in good working order at all times.Other duties as assigned.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:He/she must be friendly, caring and have good communication and organizational skills in order to prioritize duties and meet deadlines as they arise. He/she must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. He/she must have a working knowledge of The Arc of SWGA’s Mission and Vision as well as the agency’s programs and services. He/she must have a knowledge and understanding of the agency’s accreditation process and its value to the organization.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal Home environment.JOB RELATIONSHIPS:He/She will be supervised by the Residential Case Manager.He/she will have no supervisory responsibilities over other employees.The duties listed above are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Must be capable of operating a 13-passenger van or must have a personal vehicle that can be used for transporting individuals served. Must have unrestricted mobility to bend and lift up to 40 pounds.
