Travel Specialist

Travel Specialist Position: Travel Specialist Pay: $19.28-$23.13 minimum starting pay Responsibilities Plan and secure travel arrangements for company business for employees and agents according to management needs. Coordinate arrangements for company meetings as requested for home office and field offices. Be available after hours for Catastrophe Storm Team activation or other emergency situations. Maintain current knowledge of all aspects of domestic and international travel. Maintain records and files and prepare regular and special reports for Corporate Travel. Perform selected duties of the Manager of Corporate Travel when absent. Serve as frontline travel agent for securing reservations, including airline tickets, local transportation, both domestic and international using Sabre GDS. Work with Claims Department to secure travel for Catastrophe Team and other claims adjusters traveling to devastated areas. Perform clerical duties of record keeping for all accounting procedures and maintain records of unused tickets and credits. Confirm with Jefferson City Flying Service for scheduling of the company plane, including flight itineraries and car rentals. Perform duties of the Manager of Corporate Travel when absent due to vacation or company travel obligations. Plan meetings as requested by home office and branch locations including negotiating and contracting sleeping rooms, conference space, audio‑visual needs and food and beverage. Perform duties assigned by the Manager of Corporate Travel that will enhance operation of the Travel Department. A Credit Bureau Report may be ordered on final candidates. Qualifications Superior oral and written communication skills. Good math skills for determination of pricing and negotiating contracts. Excellent organizational and decision‑making skills. Knowledge of MS Office for reporting, itineraries and other department needs. Experience as a travel agent working with Global Distribution System and Sabre preferred.
