We are seeking an experienced and talented Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician to join our Southern California team for our San Diego office. This is a non-exempt position.
Responsibilities:- Perform laboratory tests on construction materials (moisture content, compaction, sieves, hydrometers, atterberg limits, corrosion suites, and expansion index, concrete flexural strength, etc.)
- Apply basic computer data templates, interpret test data, and prepare reports of test data
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain calibration schedule and records
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 plus years in Civil Engineering or lab testing, preferred
- Caltrans Certification
- Strong math skills
- Willingness to work in a soils environment which may require getting dirty
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and operate hand-controlled testing equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
