Position Information

Job Title: Bookstore Clerk Part-time - George County Center

Job Description: Reports to the Perkinston Bookstore Manager. Serve as Manager in absence of the Bookstore Manager and with day-to-day operations.

Job Duties:

• Perform cashiering duties that include processing customer sales, reconciling cash drawer at end of shift, preparing bank deposits and reconciling credit card sales.
• Assist students by issuing textbooks and finding required materials.
• Responsible for assisting in the ordering and receiving books, resale merchandise, instructional materials and bookstore supplies.
• Merchandise maintenance in WINPRISM.
• Maintain payroll records for bookstore personnel.
• Prepare bookstore correspondence and notices.
• Annual bookstore inventory.
• Completing physical transfers between campuses.
• Department billings reconciliation of payment.
• P-Card reconciliation.
• Issuing Banner Po's.
• Receiving on Banner PO.
• Shipping of order (online and physical transfer between campuses).
• Physical receiving of merchandise and books.
• Time cards student workers, full time and Part time.
• Back up Manager as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Bookstore Manager.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Business or related area.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in business related area including purchasing, inventory, and budgeting experience.
• Experience in the retail industry with working knowledge of a point of sale system, both back office and cash register operations.
• Proficient in the use of personal computers.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with SCTBanner.
• Experience with Win prism POS systems.
• Experience with textbook ordering and management.
• Experience dealing with the public.
• Experience in an educational environment.
