Associate Veterinarian (DVM / VMD)

Location: Swansea, IL 62226 (Just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis, MO)

Compensation Structure: $100,000 - $150,000

Facility & Diagnostic Sandbox

• Fully paperless environment utilizing advanced digital medical records.
• Digital radiography suites and a brand-new, high-resolution diagnostic ultrasound unit.
• Full, state-of-the-art in-house laboratory testing equipment.
• Dedicated surgical suites, a specialized dental suite, and therapeutic laser systems.

The Role: Collaborative Outpatient & Surgical Pacing

• Outpatient Pacing: Lead wellness checks, diagnostic workups, and preventative client counseling with a highly manageable, quality-focused volume of approximately 16 patients per day.
• Clinical Appointments: Standard appointments are mapped out in generous 30-minute blocks to secure deep client relationships and thorough diagnostics.
• Surgical Path (Optional): If you possess strong surgical or dental interests, block times are carved out from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM one or two days a week, completely swapping out your outpatient schedule.
• Exotics Integration: Exposure or explicit interest in exotic animal medicine is highly welcomed but not required.

Fiercely Flexible Scheduling

• The Full-Time Blueprint: Consists of up to 36 scheduled clinical hours per week distributed over 4 weekdays, granting every doctor one designated weekday completely off.
• Daily Workflow Rhythm: Standard appointment blocks run from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (one day extends to 7:00 PM).
• Protected Midday Break: The clinic schedules no appointments between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Doctors accept a maximum of two drop-offs during this window, typically taking only an hour. On quiet days, enjoy a full 2-hour block for lunch, administrative catch-up, or decompression.
• Rotational Weekends: Doctors rotate Saturday morning shifts (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM), averaging only two Saturdays per month.
• Hard Boundaries: The clinic is closed completely on Sundays and requires absolutely no after-hours on-call emergency rotations.

Submission Requirements

• Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Illinois (or pending immediate transfer).
• Credentials: Active federal DEA registration and Illinois state controlled substance license (or pending).
• Hiring Sequence: Initial phone screening Comprehensive on-site facility tour and team meet-and-greet Paid working/shadowing day. Candidate feedback is delivered rapidly within a couple of days.
