Attendance Student Data Specialist

This position assists the Assistant Principal of Academics to provide supplementary/supportive services to the students, staff and parents. Such services are for the express purpose of recording attendance, registration of new students, withdrawal of transfer students and processing specific reports.

Essential Functions

• Prepares detailed reports under the direct supervision of the Assistant Principal of Academics
• Maintains detailed records of attendance, maintains and processes activities list and student schedules.
• Maintains a system of files and records.
• Issues and maintains ISS (In School Suspension) records.
• Receives attendance phone calls and makes necessary calls to parents regarding student attendance.
• Conducts transactions with school personnel or the public in matters requiring detailed knowledge of rules procedures, policies, precedents, and activities.
• Composes correspondence and prepares reports independently or from oral instructions in a timely manner.

Training and Experience

• High school diploma.
• Two years of secretarial/clerical experience preferred.
• One year of experience working directly with students in a high school setting such as a classroom aide, volunteer, student work experience, supervisor, etc. preferred.
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish preferred.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
