Make a Difference When It Matters Most. At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and their owners on some of their hardest days. Role Overview As a Swing Shift Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician, you will provide high‑quality, compassionate care during the busiest and most unpredictable hours in an emergency veterinary setting. Working typically from the afternoon through late evening, you bridge the gap between daytime operations and overnight care. What You’ll Do Treat every patient and person with care, keeping families together throughout tests, treatments, and all steps in between. Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge. Administer medications, monitors, and advanced techniques, including IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, arterial lines, ultrasound, and more. Collaborate with doctors and team members, shaping plans and keeping care flowing. Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement. Administer anesthesia, even for the most fragile patients. Identify subtle changes in patient status and advocate accordingly. What You’ll Need Licensed Veterinary Technician (Associate’s degree + VTNE passed). At least 2 years of veterinary experience (ER preferred but not required). Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice‑management software and electronic medical records. Excellent communication and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment. Physical stamina: stand for prolonged periods, kneel, lift up to 40 lbs independently, and assist with up to 80 lbs with support. Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as‑needed basis.
