Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician

Job Summary DEUTZ Field Service Technicians are creative mechanic marvels that contribute to the organization’s success by providingexpertisein field service troubleshooting, installations, and repair of our machinery. The Field Service Technician will perform field-related preventative maintenance and routine repairs on all DEUTZ products and Non-DEUTZ Construction Equipmentoperatingwithin the DEUTZ Power Center. The Field Service Technician will liaise with our Service Supervisor, Parts Dept, Customers, New enginesalesand engineering/warranty department. This role requires robust problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt and work in a team environment. The ideal candidate must be personable, reliable, ethical, and intelligent with a diligent and hard-working drive. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Field Service Technicians willbe responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Travel to customer(s) locations to perform engine and equipment-related repairs. Assistin resolving customer-related issues ina timelymatter. Work with all employees and supervisors to ensure the facility is clean and organized and presents a positive image of DEUTZ. Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned. Pre-order all parts and materialsrequiredto perform assigned repairs. Inspect required repairs safely and effectively. Ensure all repairs are completed as assigned and according to manufacturer requirements. Ensure proper cosmetic appearance upon completion of repairs. Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned per DEUTZ Power Center return parts guidelines. Maintain and keep the work area in a clean and safe condition. Communicate with customers in a respectful and honest manner. Match all identified solutions necessary to affecta repair. Complete all work orders and time sheetsin a timely manner. Consult, when necessary, with the DEUTZ Service Department ticket system to ensure the accuracy and approval of repairs. Ensure vehicle parts inventory ismaintainedat a suitable level for first-call completions and local parts sales. Perform all workin accordance withall established policies and procedures. Assistin the proper filing of warranty claims and customer invoices. Follow all DEUTZ employee policies and procedures, especiallypertaining totravel and company credit cards. Maintains and cleans service trucks meeting DOT requirements. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:N/A Travel Demands:Anticipateddomestic and international travel isapproximately 70-90% depending on business needs. Education/Experience Required Must be able to maintain DOT medical card status Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the company Strong computer usage with the ability to effectively utilize software including Serdia, Serpic, Fieldaware, Word, and Excel 2-5 Years Of Construction Equipment Repair Experience Preferred Certification/Training in heavy equipment and diesel engine repairs preferred. | || | Additional Required Skills Strong experience in diagnosis, and repair of NG/CNG, Tier 3-4 emissions level preferred. Exceptionallystrong working knowledge of DEUTZ Diesel engines. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Meet all local/state and company requirements tooperatea company-assigned service vehicle. Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking in person, and over the phone). Proficient in the use of basic computer functions and portable diagnostic tools. Must haveowntools.Key DEUTZ tools will be provided. Language Ability Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical Ability Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
