Banquet Manager

Job SummaryThe Banquet Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the Banquet department in accordance with hotel standards. The Manager directs, implements, and maintains a service and management philosophy that ensures guest satisfaction. The Banquet Manager will plan, direct, and oversee all banquet operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.Proficient in and/or the ability to learn the managerial function of the SQUIRREL POS System.Counsel, evaluate and help Team Members reach their highest potential and level of jobperformance.Prepare all required paperwork, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.Monitor all cash and receipt handling procedures as set by the hotel.Order and receive products and supplies ensure order is correct.Be attentive and anticipate guests’ needs.Handle guests' complaints quickly and quietly.Have knowledge of hotel facilities, service, and hours of operation, rates, packages, and promotions.Have knowledge of special events and entertainment schedule in the hotel.Adhere to the hotels dress code policyMust be flexible to work any shift, including weekends, late nights, and holidays.Familiar with Food and Beverage cost controls.Communicate with the Convention Services Manager to ensure all guest requirements are met.Schedule, train and evaluate staff.Supervise and encourage staff during Banquet events.Maintain and keep a clean work area and appearance.Conduct inventory in an organized and timely manner and maintain all hotel property under your responsibility.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.RequirementsTwo to three-years prior hotel Banquet experience preferred.Servsafe certification required.High School diploma or GED.Ability to perform multiple tasks and functions well under pressure.Ability to prioritize and organizeAbility to perform job function with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.Ability to read and write.Ability to add and subtract quicklyPhysical RequirementsStanding and walking most of the time.Ability to lift and carry 50 poundsStooping and Kneeling throughout the dayBe able to listen to noise in the areaSpeak Clearly #J-18808-Ljbffr The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa
