Primary Skills Utilized/Learned Evaluates and treats patients by physical measures and uses therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation procedures (with or without assistive devices) for the purpose of preventing, correcting, or alleviating disabilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Holds a Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Ohio. Possesses current BLS certification or obtains within 90 days of hire. Ability to travel to satellite locations. Preferred Qualifications Membership in the APTA. Holds active certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). Physical Requirements Ability to walk without assistive device and maintain balance despite sudden load to support patients during ambulation and/or gait training. Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient’s arm or leg during exercise program. Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension or monitor patient’s pulse. Visual acuity to observe patient’s gross movement, gait, etc., to analyze biomechanical problems. Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read. Ability to hear or understand patient’s description of symptoms and response to treatment. Frequently (25–75% of the time) performed tasks: Standing, sitting with/without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5–25 pounds, carrying 5–10 pounds, pushing up to 75 pounds.
