A major Japanese manufacturer located in Valencia, California is seeking an Inventory Control / Purchasing Administrative Staff member.

Position Overview

This is not a warehouse position. The role primarily involves administrative and operational work in an office setting.

You will be responsible for a wide range of back-office duties, including inventory control, purchasing support, vendor communication, and data entry/management. Rather than a physically demanding role, this position requires strong administrative skills, communication skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail to ensure accurate and smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of inventory and materials on order
• Manage inventory levels and reorder points, and arrange replenishment as needed
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and report issues to supervisors
• Process purchase orders through vendors and online systems, track orders, and resolve related issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and databases
• Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing and delivery schedules and resolve discrepancies
• Enter data accurately using spreadsheets and internal systems
• Coordinate with multiple departments and systems regarding invoices, payments, and purchasing-related matters
• Manage incoming shipment schedules, inspection, and defective product handling
• Work with the engineering team to confirm that the correct products are ordered
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Knowledge of inventory control and purchasing operations
• Ability to reconcile physical inventory with system reports
• Database management and accurate data entry skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to quickly learn and use integrated database systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and execution skills
• Japanese bilingual skills preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered

Compensation
$20 – $25 per hour
Final compensation will be determined after the interview based on experience.
