Workforce Development Specialist (Human Capital Division)

Shape the future of our workforce as the principal architect of talent readiness. Serving as the single point of contact for all training matters, you will develop and execute comprehensive training programs that ensure our civilian and military personnel are highly skilled, certified, safe, and mission-ready.

What you will accomplish:

- Direct Mission Impact: Build the capabilities of the entire Directorate by designing and executing the core training strategies that keep our workforce elite.

- Strategic Ownership: Act as the premier, go-to authority on professional development, driving functional training policies that directly align with Air Force standards.

- A Culture of Excellence: Champion a learning environment focused not just on compliance, but on building a safe, healthy, and highly certified workforce.

- Training Program Management: Serve as the single point of contact for all Directorate training initiatives, coordinating professional, technical, and leadership development programs.

- Policy & Compliance Oversight: Author and execute functional training policies, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and safety guidelines.

- Workforce Readiness Certification: Track and verify qualifications, professional certifications, and mandatory training to maintain a fully authorized and capable civilian and military staff.

- Strategic Needs Assessment: Analyze skill gaps across the organization to develop targeted educational programs that meet evolving defense challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain an appropriate security clearance

- May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in an accordance with (IAW) the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for training or mission accomplishment

- Personal data, to which the incumbent has access, is controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 and must be safeguarded appropriately

-May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.

2. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.

3. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.

4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.

6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
