Lane County Behavioral Health is looking for two qualified Mental Health Associates/Family Support Specialists (FSS) to join our team. These positions work conjointly as mobile crisis service responders for the Mobile Crisis Service program (MCS) and as case managers for the Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) program. MRSS connects youth and families to mental health services and provides stabilization after a crisis. The role involves working directly with youth and families who have recently used Mobile Crisis Services and responding in two‑person teams to crisis calls across Lane County. Primary Duties Provide family engagement and emotional support Deliver crisis support and de‑escalation Safely plan with families and youth Navigate resources and advocate for families Co‑coach parents and youth in skill building Manage intensive case coordination to connect families and youth to needed resources Assist parents/caregivers in treatment planning and decision‑making Provide consistent follow‑up and communication based on family needs Maintain accurate records and collaborate with the MRSS team These positions are part of a multi‑disciplinary team that includes a Qualified Mental Health Professional and a Child Psychiatrist. The program offers up to 56 days of additional support for families and youth after crisis interventions. Schedule 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. days, with possible schedule variation. Qualifications Training: Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited university with major coursework in a mental health field, psychology, sociology, or a related field. Experience: At least one year of work experience directly with mentally or emotionally disturbed clients, plus a combination of education, training, and/or work experience totaling two additional years, and the required competencies. Or a combination of at least three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience, and the competencies to communicate effectively, understand mental‑health assessment terminology, implement psychosocial interventions, and apply treatment plan concepts within scope of practice. Registration: Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year of hire, the status as a Family Support Specialist on the Oregon Health Authority Traditional Health Care Worker Registry, to be maintained throughout employment. Driver’s License Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Oregon driver’s license by the time of appointment.
