Company Description Saint Paul Festival & Heritage Foundation is the proud producer of the historic Saint Paul Winter Carnival, a signature community celebration in Minnesota. The organization is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage, traditions, and spirit of Saint Paul through inclusive, accessible events. It collaborates with local partners, volunteers, sponsors, and city stakeholders to deliver well-organized, safe, and engaging festival experiences. Role Description The Manager of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in St Paul, MN, responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of festival operations, including the Saint Paul Winter Carnival and related events. This role manages day-to-day logistics such as vendor coordination, site setup and teardown, scheduling, and inventory of event materials and equipment. The Manager of Operations will work closely with staff, volunteers, sponsors, and city officials to ensure compliance with safety regulations, permitting requirements, and operational timelines. Typical duties include developing operational plans and budgets, monitoring event performance, managing contracts, and addressing on-the-ground issues during events. The role also involves maintaining documentation, improving operational processes, and contributing to strategic planning to enhance future festival experiences. Qualifications Experience in event or festival operations, including logistics planning, onsite coordination, and vendor management. Skills in budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation to support efficient, cost-effective event delivery. Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities with staff, volunteers, sponsors, and public agencies. Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lead and supervise teams, provide clear direction, and support a positive, inclusive work culture. Comfort with working onsite during events, including evenings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions as required. Proficiency with common office software and event management tools; experience with project management systems is a plus. Relevant experience in nonprofit, community events, or large-scale public festivals; familiarity with local regulations and permitting is beneficial.
