Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of high-risk OB experience and an active OR RN license for a fast-paced maternity unit.

Details

• Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a large short-term acute care hospital
• Facility averages 200-300 births per month
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:3 for couplet care
• Float to Postpartum and High-Risk Antepartum units based on unit needs
• Shifts include 12-hour Day (11:00-23:00) and Evening/Night (15:00-03:00) rotations
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required if a shift is cancelled
• 48-hour scheduling approved
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active OR RN license, compact license must be in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience with high-risk OB care, including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Antihypertensives)
• Experience assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Antepartum units as needed
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the region based on staffing needs
• Scrubs provided for L&D staff
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Former employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if living outside a 50-mile radius
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of relevant experience within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers are not typically considered for this role
