Therapist - Occupational Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide occupational therapy services to patients in a hospital inpatient setting, focusing on stroke evaluation and treatment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate functional recovery and improve patient independence.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans for neuro-rehabilitation.
• Perform manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and therapeutic exercises.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in Meditech Expanse system.
• Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques and recovery strategies.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including stroke certification requirements.
• Float to acute care units as needed to support patient care coverage.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid occupational therapy license and certification.
• Possess 2+ years of recent hospital and inpatient rehab experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in stroke evaluation and therapeutic interventions.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills utilizing AIDET methodology.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend rotations.
• Familiarity with clinical equipment such as ceiling lifts and neuromuscular stimulators.
