Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Bridgeport, West Virginia. This position involves providing patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency department setting. TheER staff are experienced with a variety of clinical situations, including chest pain, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, and trauma stabilization, with a focus on efficiency and positive patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekends are scheduled on a rotating basis, including holidays, with every-other-weekend coverage.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years of related ER experience. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are preferred.
• Additional Information: The ER features a triage and fast track area with 32 beds, operating from 11 am to 11 pm. Patient ratios are 1:4 in the main ER, 1:5 in the lower acuity area, and 1:4-6 in the fast track. The department utilizes Electronic Patient Care Records (EPIC). In-house pharmacy operates 24/7, with emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants readily available. The ER admits approximately 18% of patients and maintains a very efficient environment. The facility employs an IV team that is available house-wide until 10 pm Monday through Friday and until 3:30 pm on weekends. Decor includes royal blue scrubs, and staff can read and interpret cardiac strips.
• Additional notes: Candidate must possess a valid drivers license for submission eligibility. No floating outside of the Emergency Department is required. Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor.
