Pharmacy TechnicianThe Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team in the daily operation of NeighborHealth's onsite 340B pharmacy. This role combines technical skill, workflow coordination, and inventory management to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient prescription processing and patient care. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompliance and 340B Program SupportAssist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulationsAssist with tracking, compliance, and auditing of 340B program productsAssist with organization and compliance of pharmacy records and auditsInventory and ProcurementSupporting the management of 340B drug inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of medicationsMaintain precise records for CIII-V controlled substances through completion of daily cycle countsHandle drug recalls and the return process for expired, damaged, or recalled medicationsMaintain accurate on-hand inventory countsTechnical and Administrative DutiesEnter and prepare outpatient prescriptions accurately, ensuring correct billingFill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and properly labeling medicationsPerform quality assurance checks and report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on dutyHandle patient and provider calls that don't require the pharmacist's direct attentionProcess and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription servicesRegister and Store OperationsOperate the register, including product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and providing changeComplete cash drawer audits and reconciliations at the start and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager promptlyHandle basic department pricing and price changes for OTC productsHelp keep the pharmacy stocked, clean, and orderly, including requesting repairs as neededPatient Care and ServiceGreet customers and patients, and assist them with products and servicesSupport an outstanding patient experience through accurate dispensing and responsive serviceResolve patient questions and escalate issues to the Pharmacy Manager or provider team as neededTraining and DevelopmentComplete all required NeighborHealth Pharmacy training and continuing educationStay current on pharmacy practices and developmentsThis description covers the primary responsibilities of the role, but it isn't meant to capture everything.
