Software Engineer

Senior Software EngineerWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale Blue Eye's core software platform. This role will work across backend systems, integrations, customer-facing applications, and internal operator tools. You will be expected to take ownership of major technical initiatives, mentor other engineers, and help drive engineering quality and velocity as the platform grows.This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex real-world problems involving distributed systems, integrations, cloud infrastructure, and mission-critical workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain software across Blue Eye products, including:Backend services and APIs supporting core platform workflowsThird-party integrations (REST APIs, webhooks, event streams)The AIPX web application used by SOC operatorsThe Blue Eye customer portalInternal operational and automation toolsCloud systems used to manage distributed edge appliances in the fieldTechnical leadership responsibilities:Own end-to-end delivery of complex features and systemsDesign scalable, maintainable solutions aligned to business goalsLead architecture discussions and contribute to technical directionImprove engineering standards, testing practices, and code qualityMentor mid-level and junior engineers through reviews and coachingBreak down ambiguous problems into executable engineering plansHelp prioritize technical debt and long-term platform healthEngineering execution responsibilities:Build modern backend services using JavaScript / Node.js and C#Develop front-end features using TypeScript / JavaScriptWork with cloud-native services and event-driven systemsBuild and maintain CI/CD deployment workflowsDesign systems for remote device provisioning, configuration, and software updatesImprove observability, telemetry, alerting, and fleet health monitoring for field devicesBuild resilient software for intermittent connectivity and remote recovery scenariosOptimize workloads for constrained CPU, memory, storage, and bandwidth environmentsTroubleshoot production issues across both cloud services and deployed edge systemsParticipate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and retrospectivesRequired Qualifications10+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong experience building production systems in JavaScript / TypeScriptExperience with backend development in Node.js and/or C#Experience designing scalable APIs and service integrationsExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQLStrong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous workflowsExperience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred)Strong debugging and performance optimization skillsExperience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiativesExcellent communication and ownership mindsetPreferred QualificationsExperience managing fleets of Linux-based edge appliances or remote devicesExperience building cloud control planes for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management of distributed systemsExperience with OTA/software update systems, version control, staged rollouts, rollback strategies, and remote remediationFamiliarity with telemetry pipelines, metrics collection, remote logging, and fleet health dashboardsExperience tuning workloads for resource-constrained environments (CPU, RAM, storage, network bandwidth)Experience designing systems that tolerate unreliable connectivity and recover automatically after outagesExperience with Kubernetes / containerized environmentsExperience with Azure Event Hub, Event Grid, Service Bus, or similar systemsExperience integrating with third-party enterprise software platformsFamiliarity with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code workflowsExperience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, LokiExperience with video systems, streaming, WebRTC, or surveillance platformsWhat Success Looks LikeHigh-quality software delivered consistently and on scheduleStrong ownership of major systems and product areasReliable, scalable management of deployed edge appliance fleetsImproved platform scalability, reliability, and maintainabilityJunior engineers growing through mentorship and guidanceFaster execution through better technical decisions and architectureEffective collaboration across Engineering, Product, SOC, and OperationsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on a real-time, mission-critical platformHigh ownership and influence over product directionCollaborative engineering culture with smart, practical teammatesExposure to cloud-native systems, AI workflows, and integrationsFlexible, remote-friendly work environmentAbility to make visible impact as the company scalesBasic Requirements10+ years of professional software development experienceLegal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
