Payroll Clerk

Job Details: Job Location: Houma, LA 70360, Purpose: The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately processing payroll and maintaining payroll-related records for all company employees. Work Schedule: 7:30AM-5:00PM Monday through Thursday; 8:00AM-12:00PM Friday Responsibilities: Process and review employee timecards for both office and field personnel. Process biweekly payroll for all company employees. Maintain employee leave balances, including vacation, sick leave, and other applicable benefits. Process employee garnishments and maintain related records. Submit biweekly retirement plan remittances and maintain and monitor employee loan accounts and retirement plan records. Assist employees with payroll inquiries. Apply client payments and credits to outstanding invoices. Reconcile company bank accounts. Prepare statements for delinquent accounts and assist with accounts receivable aging reports. Assist in maintaining and balancing insurance-related deduction spreadsheets. Prepare and distribute weekly billing-related communications. Assist with answering incoming calls and transferring calls to the appropriate employee. Provide support to administrative department as needed to meet business objectives. Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting experience Experience with Paycom payroll software and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Work Conditions: Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
