Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)

Location: Elizabeth, New Jersey Reports To: Imaging Manager / Radiology Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform general, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, or abdominal ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians
2. Prepare exam rooms and equipment for daily use and individual procedures
3. Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients
4. Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain optimal images
5. Capture high-quality diagnostic images and document findings
6. Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians for accurate interpretations
7. Maintain patient records and image documentation in PACS or EMR systems
8. Adhere to all infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• ARDMS certification (or eligible) in one or more specialties (e.g., OB/GYN, Abdomen, Vascular)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of sonographic anatomy and pathology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
