Direct Care Worker (DCW)

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Care Workers (DCWs) to provide one-on-one support for individuals in their homes throughout the Wilkes-Barre, PA area. If you are passionate about helping others maintain their independence and quality of life, we want to hear from you!

As a Direct Care Worker, you will work directly with individuals in their home environment, providing personal care, companionship, and daily living assistance. This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships while making a positive impact every day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one care and support in the client's home
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
• Personal hygiene and grooming
• Dressing and mobility assistance
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance, as needed
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry
• Assist with community outings and appointments, when applicable
• Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with care plans and company policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous caregiving, direct support, home care, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a home setting
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to pass background screening and meet employment requirements
