Clinical Staff Pharmacist

As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist, you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate and interpret medication orders, oversee dispensing activities, support medication therapy management, and help ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care.


In this hospital-based role, you will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize medication therapy, promote evidence-based and cost-effective drug use, and contribute to improved clinical outcomes. You will also support pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and medication safety initiatives.

What you will do

• Review, verify, and dispense medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and accuracy.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication regimens.
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities in compliance with USP and hospital standards.
• Monitor medication safety and patient outcomes, helping identify and prevent adverse drug events.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns.
• Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need

• ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree
• Active Louisiana pharmacist license in good standing.
• Experience with pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent pharmacist experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits Highlights

• Evening shifts average approximately once per week.
• Weekend coverage averages every fourth weekend.
• Based at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital
• Hourly pay range: $44.09 - $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment.
