Maintain visual clarity at the operative site through tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation. Execute appropriate techniques to achieve both temporary and permanent hemostasis. Assist surgeons with body plane closure, securing drainage systems, and applying wound dressings. Prepare the operating room according to surgeon preference cards, ensuring required instruments, supplies, and resources are ready. Clear soiled case carts, trash, and supplies from the OR post-procedure to support efficient room turnover. Participate as an active surgical team member and fulfill additional duties as assigned. Maintain availability for required on-call shifts. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certified Assistant Surgical Assistant specializing in Surgery credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
