Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend required | Some holidays required | No call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms including telemetry and advanced arrhythmia recognition
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years, specifically in CVICU
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a minimum score of 80%; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole); no incorrect answers permitted on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Pediatric telemetry exam required with passing score of 80% or higher, including identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia
• Up to three attempts allowed to pass telemetry exam; a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course required before a third attempt if second attempt is failed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Magnet-designated facility
• Familiarity with high-acuity cardiovascular patient populations in a large academic or teaching hospital environment
