Tax Supervisor
East Valley CPA firm is seeking a motivated professional to join our Tax team as a Tax Supervisor. This position takes direction from Tax Management. Responsibilities include reviewing less complex and preparing more complex federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Individuals and tax-Exempt Organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises the work of Associates and Senior Associates
- Reviews basic and moderately complex tax returns
- Prepares complex tax returns
- Recognizes unusual M-1 items
- Prepares/reviews multi-state tax returns
- Prepares/reviews UNICAP and deferred tax calculations
- Prepares/reviews accrual to cash conversions
- Understands consolidated tax return mechanics
- Initiates quarterly and year-end tax planning discussions
- Ability to identify and communicate open items and obtain items from the client
- Ability to navigate and utilize tax research tools
- Understands the theory behind a position taken on a return
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field required
- CPA
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree (Master's in Accountancy/Tax) preferred
- Five (5) or more years of tax experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with ProSystem fx Tax preferred
- Ability to work in fixed asset software programs
- Experience with online tax research tools
