Ignite Potential Through Communication in the Windy City - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us
Imagine making a life-changing career decision that empowers not only your own aspirations but those of countless individuals. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Chicago, you'll wield the extraordinary ability to enhance communication and address swallowing disorders. Your expertise will unlock doors of opportunity, foster confidence, and build vital connections; from infants exploring the world through their first spoken words to older adults rediscovering their independence.
This position offers an exceptional chance to make a difference in the lives of clients throughout various stages of life, combining engaging outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient involvement. Your passion may lie in guiding young children in language acquisition, assisting adults with neurogenic communication challenges, or providing cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors — here, your journey is yours to define.
Conduct thorough evaluations across diverse populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, utilizing standardized assessments along with observational strategies.
Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team — including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members — to ensure coordinated and effective care.
Provide education for patients and families to support ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
Participate in sporadic inpatient evaluations and interventions, thereby maintaining continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
Maintain prompt and accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Stay updated with developments in the speech-language field through ongoing education and peer collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a board-recognized institution.
A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not acquired yet.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
Expertise in applying evidence-based treatment approaches for all age groups, with a comprehensive grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Capability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate a diverse array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Solid clinical judgment coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical record systems and documentation requirements.
Attractive salary based on experience.
Flexibility in scheduling to maintain work-life balance among diverse caseloads.
Chances to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
Paid time off (PTO) as well as holiday pay.
Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
Support for continuing education and professional growth through reimbursement opportunities.
A collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care and lifelong learning.
In this role, your impact extends far beyond simply delivering therapy — you'll join a caring community united in the mission of enhancing voices, fostering communication, and creating moments of happiness through the most fundamental human connection: understanding one another.
Expect to collaborate with dedicated professionals who treat one another like partners in care, in a space that values teamwork over competition. Here, each patient's narrative is unique, and you'll be entrusted to help shape the story they wish to tell.
