CT Radiologic Technologist

Windham Hospital in Willimantic, Connecticut is seeking a CT Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging studies to support accurate diagnosis and treatment for a diverse patient population, including emergency, inpatient, and outpatient cases. The CT Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT procedures, operating CT scanners and related equipment, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, and ensuring proper use of contrast agents in accordance with hospital policies and safety guidelines. You will verify patient identification, take relevant medical histories, screen for contraindications, explain procedures clearly, and provide reassurance to patients and families, maintaining the hospital’s focus on personalized, respectful care. Key aspects of the role include monitoring patients during and after procedures, adhering to ALARA principles and radiation safety standards, and following infection prevention and quality control protocols. You will assist with workflow coordination, prioritize STAT and emergency studies, and support the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient areas as needed. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and imaging systems, including PACS and RIS, is essential. As part of a team-oriented department, you will participate in ongoing education, equipment competency assessments, and process improvement initiatives to enhance image quality, patient safety, and overall department efficiency. You will help mentor new staff and students when appropriate and model Windham Hospital’s culture of collaboration, respect, and commitment to community health.
