Job Title Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Manager Department : Operations Support: Grounds Maintenance Reports To : Business Unit Leader Job Type : Full time, onsite Job Summary The Support Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of maintenance, repair, and operational support activities across multiple facilities and grounds. This role involves developing and implementing maintenance plans, leading a team of support staff, and ensuring operational excellence. The Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining facility integrity, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Essential Job Functions Develop and implement maintenance plans and quality standards for facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment Manage workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple sites Oversee contractor relationships and large-scale maintenance projects Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements and bio-security measures Direct critical systems maintenance, including power systems and waste management Coordinate with Production teams on facility preparations for operational activities Collaborate with other department heads to align facility management with business objectives Drive continuous improvement initiatives in support operations, targeting cost reduction where possible Manage and oversee Truck Wash procedures to ensure all vehicles requiring washing and sanitizing are completed and properly documented per bio-security guidance Responsible for equipment maintenance requests, work orders, and purchase orders Procure the appropriate tools, equipment, supplies and training for shop operations Deliver prompt, professional solutions for customer inquiries and suggest service improvements Assist with the purchase of vehicles and equipment to enhance operations Manage emergency repairs and oversee preventative maintenance for all vehicles and equipment Provide guidance on the scheduling, dispatch operations, and vendor relationships for vehicle services Develop and implement fleet maintenance schedules and vehicle replacement programs Track vehicle performance, identify areas for improvement, optimize efficiency Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in facilities management or support operations 3+ years in a leadership role Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements Strong leadership and team management skills Proficiency in project management and financial analysis Excellent problem-solving and strategic planning abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience in agricultural or food production facilities Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the agriculture industry Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices Experience with facilities management software and CMMS systems This position involves a mix of office work and on-site facility management across multiple locations. The role requires regular travel between facilities to oversee operations and conduct inspections. Some physical demands include navigating various facility areas, including occasional work at heights or in confined spaces. The Manager must be comfortable in diverse environments, from office settings to production facilities. Flexibility in working hours is essential to address urgent facility issues or oversee critical projects.
