- Five years of administrative experience in a clinical setting
- High school diploma or GED
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
- CPR Certification is required within 6 months of employment. Degrees/credits must be from an academically accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education (CHEA)
- Travel will be required to attend conferences and training, and possibly to work at varying locations
- Must complete HIPAA training, CDC Partner Services training, and on-the-job training in reportable HIV/STI terminology, diagnosis, and treatment within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish
- Experience working in a clinic with multiple medical providers
- Prior lead and/or supervisory experience
- Experience managing the workflow in a medical office or clinic
- Experience in a medical setting, diagnosing and treating STIs or other communicable diseases
- Experience developing and implementing workflow processes in a medical setting
- Experience working with State regulatory and licensing requirements for an Outpatient Treatment Center
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinic processes to efficiently manage the flow of the clinic and the tasks of the clinic staff. Provide directions to clinic staff to ensure that the clinic is operating smoothly and that patients are being seen in a timely manner. Design, coordinate, and monitor workflow processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise all human resource functions of staff, including the hiring, supervision, performance evaluation, coaching and counseling, and disciplinary actions; ensure actions comply with County and Departmental policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal employment and labor laws; develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary. Assure timely and accurate completion and approval of timecards and other employee documents. Develop staffing schedules and work assignments
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities to monitor compliance with clinic standards, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, workflow challenges, customer concerns, and complaints escalated by clinic staff or medical providers. Collaborate with leadership and staff to identify solutions, address conflicts, and ensure timely resolution while maintaining high-quality patient care and customer service
- Perform an assessment of the clinic on a regular basis to ensure compliance with State licensing requirements for an Outpatient Treatment Center. Ensure adequate supplies and pharmaceuticals are available and ordered as needed, and that those items are stored and maintained properly
- Participate as a member of committees and workgroups representing the Community Health and Records Services Division and the STI Program. May also serve as a chairperson for some committees or work groups
- Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
- Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, or requires walking or standing to a significant degree
- All staff work with electronic medical records and state databases
- All staff have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for routine patient care, including medical gloves and medical masks
