Inmate Logistics Specialist

The Inmate Logistics Staff position is responsible for tracking cases and holds placed on inmates and determining whether those inmates should be released, transferred, or remain incarcerated. Responsibilities Read and comprehend court minutes and various documents, taking appropriate action. Maintain accurate data for each inmate incarcerated in Marion County and other facilities with a Marion County hold in the Offender Management System, including case information, security level, and housing assignments. Ensure all necessary documentation is received and properly completed. Efficiently utilize the email system as well as IDACS/NCIC/NLETS. Calculate dates for sentenced inmates based on court information so they enter the release process on the intended date or are sent to Community Corrections/Indiana Dept. of Corrections as directed. Assist the public and other officers from local, state, and federal agencies via email, in person, and on the phone. Book new outright arrests or open warrants for in‑custody inmates and ensure these inmates are processed by the MCSO Processing Staff and MCSO Identification Unit. Update skills to remain current with changes in directives, procedures, and laws. Ensure all equipment is accounted for, properly maintained, and keep the work area clean and orderly. Perform additional duties or responsibilities as management may deem necessary (not exhaustive). Qualifications High school education and/or High School Equivalent (HSE). Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain IDAC/NCIC certification. Proficiency in various computer programs and accurate data entry. Experience handling standard office equipment and audio communication (radio) equipment. Capacity to work independently with limited supervision on weekends and holidays. Availability to work a rotating schedule covering 24/7 operations of Inmate Logistics, including weekends and holidays. Civilian employees’ principal residence must be within Marion County boundaries within six months of employment. Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to apply established rules, regulations, civil/criminal laws, and maintain confidentiality. #J-18808-Ljbffr
