Responsibilities: Validate and process lottery prize claims by verifying player eligibility, age, and identity using secure verification tools and IRS TIN matching systems Prepare, approve, and distribute prize payments via checks or prepaid debit cards, ensuring compliance with Lottery and IRS standards Manage cash handling operations, including balancing drawers, daily deposits, and reconciliation of claims activity Maintain accurate and complete claim documentation, ensuring secure storage of sensitive winner information and adherence to audit policies Respond to player inquiries and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy, ensuring an engaging and positive claimant experience Monitor and balance instant ticket inventory, ticket vending machines, and SCIQ systems, ensuring efficient claims center operations Requirements: High school/GED and 1 year of experience in customer service, cash handling, or operating in an office environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling, reconciliation, and recordkeeping Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer engagement Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and work independently in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion Skilled in multitasking, prioritization, and maintaining professionalism under pressure IRS TIN Matching System access (Preferred) Notary Public certification (Preferred) First Aid and CPR certifications (Preferred) Bilingual (Spanish) a plus This is an on-site position Hiring Rate: $20.25/hr (this non-exempt position will be filled at or near the posted salary) Close Date: August 24, 2026 About the North Carolina Education Lottery We raise money for a great cause!
