REMOTE - WORK FROM HOME MAY BE AVAILABLE Analyze and resolve complex and severe injury medical malpractice claims within Company standards, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements. • Develop action plans to manage complex or technically difficult medical malpractice claims to resolution. • Conduct or assign full investigation of exposure, new events, claims, and legal actions. • Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves; monitor reserve adequacy throughout claim life. • Coordinate legal defense by assigning attorney, reviewing attorney invoices, and monitoring counsel for compliance with client guidelines. • Represent Company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring. • Recommend settlement strategies including proposing structured settlements as necessary. • Implement cost containment techniques including strategic vendor partnerships to reduce overall claim costs. • Identify and investigate possible fraud, subrogation, contribution, recovery, and case management opportunities to reduce total claim cost. • Ensure claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
