Role Overview
We are seeking a Middle Product Owner to join our team at DirectViz Headquarters on a temporary basis. In this role, you will serve as the critical liaison between stakeholders and development teams, defining product vision, prioritizing backlogs, and ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives. This position requires a professional with proven experience in agile environments who can independently manage product roadmaps, facilitate stakeholder communication, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills to balance competing priorities and deliver value-driven solutions.

Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active Confidential security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to development teams and stakeholders
- Develop and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, stakeholder input, and technical feasibility
- Write clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria to guide development efforts
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint review sessions with cross-functional teams
- Negotiate scope, timelines, and resource allocation with stakeholders to balance competing priorities
- Resolve conflicts between stakeholder requirements and technical constraints through effective communication and compromise
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality product increments
- Monitor product performance metrics and gather user feedback to inform iterative improvements
- Maintain alignment between product deliverables and organizational goals throughout the development lifecycle
- Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, and technical leads to ensure seamless execution
- Present product demonstrations and progress updates to executive leadership and client stakeholders

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in agile environments
- Demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution techniques and stakeholder management
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to balance technical feasibility and business requirements
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle management
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining product backlogs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms)
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships across teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail

Certifications / Licensure:

- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification required

Required Education:

- Diploma or equivalent qualification required

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification
- Experience working within government contracting or federal agency environments
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security protocols in government settings
- DoD 8570 IA Technical Level compliance or ability to obtain
- Background in software development or technical product management
- Experience with data-driven decision making and product analytics tools

Additional Requirements:

- This is a temporary position based at DirectViz Headquarters
- Overtime is not allowed for this role
- Must be able to work on-site as required by contract obligations
- U.S. citizenship may be required based on contract specifications
- Ability to pass background investigation commensurate with Confidential clearance level
