Sr. Data Engineer
Role: Data Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA / Lewisville, Texas
Duration: Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain scalable and high-performance data pipeline
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues
- Implement security, data protection measures and data quality rules
- Dividing requirements into actionable tasks
- Reviewing code by peer programmers
- Using test driven development(TDD) to implement new features
- Writing unit/integration tests
Skills:
- Knowledge of and 5-8 years of experience in the following development concepts: CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, Pair Programming, Git, GitHub, JSON, Object Oriented Programming(OOP) and trunk based development
- Understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing and data modeling
- Experience with automation first approach and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Ansible)
- Strong experience in developing data pipeline with Python PyFlink and Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics, AWS Glue, Apache Kafka and DocumentDb
- Experience in developing loosely coupled solutions using message broker, Kafka preferred
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
- A proactive mindset, self-motivated, self-disciplined and having passion to learn new tools/technologies
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
