Rocky Mountain VA Medical Center The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center is a welcomed step forward in meeting the increased health care needs of today's Veteran population. This new facility replaces the Denver facility of 670,000 square feet with a new state of the art campus of approximately 1.2 million square feet on 31 acres, providing many new services to Veterans. The new Aurora, Colorado location is ideally located on the southeast corner of the former Fitzsimons Army Base just off Interstate 225, immediately west of RTD's light rail station and neighboring Children's Hospital and the University of Colorado Anschutz Health Care Campus. Position Overview

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Takes and records blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight.
• Under general supervision, decontaminates, cleans, processes, sterilizes, stores, and distributes reusable medical devices and supplies used in patient care.
• Annotates patient chart with vital signs, pertinent history and level of pain. Alerts provider of any acute issues stated by patient.
• Obtains routine specimen for laboratory analysis and perform standard tests. Ensures proper identification of specimens and delivers them to laboratory, always ensuring proper PPE requirements are met.
• Assist physicians and/or nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments. Acts as chaperon when needed or requested by provider
• Apply/remove bandages, binders, simple dressings and hot and cold packs
• Performs electrocardiographs and notifies Physician of results
• Assist physicians and/or nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments
• Assists patients with proper use of oxygen equipment, ensuring proper fit for mask or canula
• Accompany patients in wheelchairs, on litters or ambulatory within hospital as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Has at least 12 months of continuous experience as an MA within the past three years.
• Has and maintains current BCLS certification
• Has no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties.
• Has documented training and skills verification
